As the Lord warned His children so many years ago, our world, as well as our present time, is truly marked by a wide variety of false religions and false prophets. One of these is a man whom some people refer to as Lord Maitreya, or Lord Maitreya Buddha. This man is said to have first made his appearance in Nairobi, Kenya during the late 1980's. His PR man is a Briton by the name of Benjamin Creme, who for years has been claiming that Maitreya will soon reveal himself to the world. Supposedly, Maitreya now resides in the Asian district of London. While he comes with a message of peace, and sharing the wealth with the world's poor, Maitreya's words are merely the candy-coated poison to lure the unwary into his web of deceit. Interesting enough, according to one web source, there is another man who also calls himself Maitreya, and who is said to originate from Iran. For we Christians, we need to remember that Jesus said:
"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."

And, as the Apostle Paul also wrote:
"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived."
2 Timothy 3:13, KJV
