Bible Tidbits:
Yeshua
"Yeshua" -- which is an alternative form of "Yehoshuah", "Jehoshua" and "Joshua" -- means "Jehovah is salvation". It is the Hebrew name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, or "Jesus the Anointed One". In the New Testament -- which was written in Greek -- the name "Jesus" is the English transliteration of the Greek form of His name, which is "Iesous". All of these names -- Yehoshuah, Jehoshua, Joshua, Iesous and Jesus -- mean the exact same thing; that is "Jehovah is salvation".
