This is rather unusual. Look at the color of the cloud formation that is located just to the east of the Philippines. It looks like something is lighting up the sky ….. almost like an explosion of some kind. Compare the color of the formation to the normal color you see in all of the surrounding clouds, which are white again a blue ocean background. I have never seen this before in all the years I have been observing meteorological satellite images. I have no idea what is causing this. Guam and the Mariana Islands are in the top right sector of this image.
