“Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.” “At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.” “One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.” This is why in Acts chapter seven, where Stephen is stoned to death — which the Apostle Paul witnesses — we read the following:<\/p>\n “And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” Here are some additional verses which are found in both the Old and the New Testaments:<\/p>\n “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” “Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.” “For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.” “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” “This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.” “Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
