So my friend drove me to church,
\nSaid I needed to hear God’s Word,
\nWe sat there for close to an hour,
\nAnd not one verse I ever heard.<\/p>\n

They all sang a number of hymns,
\nAnd clapped and praised the Lord,
\nBut by the time of announcements,
\nWell, I was really getting bored.<\/p>\n

The pastor mentioned a bake sale,
\nAs the collection plate came by,
\nThen the band blared out music,
\nI just asked myself, why oh why?<\/p>\n

My friend was happy and smiling,
\nWhen we finally left that place,
\nAs for me I was so disappointed,
\nHis church was one big disgrace.<\/p>\n

They went through all the motions,
\nAnd seemed quite on fire for God,
\nBut the fact no Bible was shared,
\nI just found it so particularly odd.<\/p>\n

To be a really strong Christian,
\nIn the Bible we must all immerse,
\nYet that preacher never did this,
