Some say a salvation prayer has no true value,
\nWell forgive me but I’m compelled to tell you.
\nJohn 1:12 tells us that as many as receive,
\nJohn 3:16 says whosoever will just believe.<\/p>\n
Rom. 10:9-10 says verbal confession is a start,
\nGalatians 3:17 says Jesus dwells in our heart.
\nMat. 21:22, receive by faith whatever we pray,
\nThat is what even Jesus certainly had to say.<\/p>\n
If we express our faith through such a prayer,
\nI honestly don’t see what is so wrong there.
\nNow if water baptism could serve as a sign,
\nExplain why a salvation prayer you so malign.<\/p>\n
Both are personal acts we each choose to do,
\nIt demonstrates we all believe in Jesus too.
\nYes, after we’re saved our works should follow,
\nAs James wrote, faith without works is hollow.<\/p>\n
Yet they say a salvation prayer is to no avail,
\nAnd tho we say one we’re still bound for hell.
\nSalvation is a matter of our personal belief,
\nSo just let go now of legalism, oh good grief!<\/p>\n
Stop complicating what God has made very plain,
\nSaved by grace through faith, works are in vain.
\nOnly God saves us, and He alone us can keep,
\nTo keep yourself saved is a mountain too steep.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
