Perhaps you have heard the story,
\nThey said our banks will not lapse,
\nBut suddenly just out of nowhere,
\nWe’re headed for financial collapse.<\/p>\n
They said that the vaccines do work,
\nJust don’t forget to wear your mask,
\nThey said our railways are all fine,
\nSo about derailments, no, don’t ask.<\/p>\n
They said no lab ever made COVID,
\nBut now their story has all changed,
\nIt really leaves a person confused,
\nWhen all their facts are rearranged.<\/p>\n
They said Social Security is solvent,
\nAnd Medicare? No need for any fears,
\nYet suddenly they demand cutbacks,
\nAnd to increase our retirement years.<\/p>\n
They said the water is safe to drink,
\nEven though some pipes are still lead,
\nBut when I take a good look around,
\nI question how many folks are dead.<\/p>\n
They said our borders are secure,
\nDo not worry about the cartel thugs,
\nWe\u2019ve got everything under control,
\nExcept for all those deadly drugs.<\/p>\n
Yes, they sure say so many things,
\nWe find out later aren\u2019t exactly true,
\nIt really makes a person wonder,
\nJust what we\u2019re even supposed to do.<\/p>\n
They constantly gaslight the public,
\nSo we often don’t even have a clue,
\nBut I am so tired of their nonsense,
