When you read the Holy Bible,
\nDo you do it to prove your point?
\nHave you stopped to consider,
\nYour beliefs may be out of joint?<\/p>\n

God’s Word is not merely a book,
\nWhere we each pick and choose,
\nSome verses we can’t throw out,
\nWhile others we decide to use.<\/p>\n

We can’t force an interpretation,
\nJust let the Bible explain itself,
\nIf we want it to say what we wish,
\nThen leave that tome on the shelf.<\/p>\n

But if we desire to know the truth,
\nComparing verses we really need,
\nGod will begin opening our eyes,
\nAs we continue to faithfully read.<\/p>\n

We should keep a receptive mind,
\nAs the Spirit speaks to our heart,
\nHe will link this verse to that one,
\nWe will be off to a very good start.<\/p>\n

When we use this correct method,
\nEverything falls into proper place,
\nWithout us twisting and tweaking,
\nWe are on a solid scriptural base.<\/p>\n

Things which were hidden before,
\nWill suddenly come into the light,
\nOne verse will confirm another,
\nAnd we will know we’ve got it right.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
