ACTIVE SHOOTER<\/p>\n

Yet another active shooter,
\nJust made the evening news,
\nSome folks don’t believe it,
\nThey claim a political ruse.<\/p>\n

Why so much gun violence?
\nIt seems to come in waves,
\nAnd when it is finally over,
\nInnocents lie in their graves.<\/p>\n

Something’s seriously wrong,
\nA dark cloud over the nation,
\nLoose cannons on the prowl,
\nAn unhealthy gun fixation.<\/p>\n

Each time an event occurs,
\nPols have another photo op,
\nBut as for all of the killings,
\nThey don’t ever seem to stop.<\/p>\n

Empty promises are made,
\nIt’s just damage control mode,
\nWhile they all keep on talking,
\nAnother killer is about to load.<\/p>\n

So what is the real solution?
\nWill they take our guns away?
\nIf G-men force a showdown,
\nIt would be a very bloody day.<\/p>\n

Citizens are armed to the hilt,
\nGovernment they don’t trust,
\nSome will fight for gun rights,
\nUntil they are laid in the dust.<\/p>\n

It’s such a precarious situation,
\nHeated tempers on each side,
\nHow many more kids must die,
\nBefore these two forces collide?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
