Put your faith in the Lord alone,
\nDon’t ever place it in any man,
\nFor if that person should fail,
\nWill you still be able to stand?<\/p>\n

Yet so often we tend to do this,
\nA mistake we shouldn’t make,
\nCaptivated by their charisma,
\nUntil we learn they are a fake.<\/p>\n

So filled with disappointment,
\nWe sometimes abandon God,
\nEven becoming so rebellious,
\nThat He must pull out His rod.<\/p>\n

But the blame is truly our own,
\nEyes were in the wrong place,
\nMesmerized by a mere human,
\nInstead of beholding His face.<\/p>\n

Now though our idol has fallen,
\nThe Bible is nevertheless true,
\nSo then returning to the Lord,
\nIs what we simply need to do.<\/p>\n

Regardless if religion fails us,
\nJesus remains faithful you see,
\nHis holy promises are forever,
\nYes, they’re binding for eternity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
