FATHER<\/p>\n

They insist we should call God,
\nBy an Old Testament Hebrew name,
\nBut in all of the four Gospels,
\nJesus never quite did the same.<\/p>\n

Thus, when He taught us to pray,
\nIn the well-known Lord’s Prayer,
\nWe see the words “Our Father”,
\nIs what is really written there.<\/p>\n

When Jesus prayed in the Garden,
\nRight before the Jews Him abused,
\nHe did not use some Hebrew word,
\n“Father” is exactly what He used.<\/p>\n

Over and over again we can see it,
\n“My Father”, “Your Father”, right?
\nBut as for a certain Hebrew name,
\nIt’s just simply nowhere in sight.<\/p>\n

So Jesus was our primary example,
\nAnd we should do exactly as He did,
\nI won’t get hung up on the Hebrew,
\nOr debate it like some little kid.<\/p>\n

The other New Testament writers,
\nFollowed this same line of thought,
\nThere’s no sign of a Hebrew name,
\nThey used “God” and “Father” a lot.<\/p>\n

These are merely a few examples,
\nI could give you so many more,
\nBut my point is already clear,
