\nGideon was the young lad’s name,
\nAn Angel appeared under an oak,
\nThen that boy began to complain.<\/p>\n
\nAs in all the glorious days past,
\nThen why do Midianites afflict us?
\nSuch was the question he did ask.<\/p>\n
\nThus was the answer he did receive,
\nBut I am the least in my own house,
\nHow am I even supposed to believe?<\/p>\n
\nAfter a meal for the Angel he made,
\nA fire then came up out of the rock,
\nAnd consumed the food where it laid.<\/p>\n
\nThrow down your dad’s altar to Baal,
\nBuild another unto the LORD instead,
\nAnd cut down your dad’s grove as well.<\/p>\n
\nBut the people didn’t like this thing,
\nThey wanted to kill that brave boy,
\nJoash, your son to us you must bring.<\/p>\n
\nLet Baal plead for himself he said,
\nSo the townsfolk then all backed down,
\nAnd dear Gideon didn’t lose his head.<\/p>\n
\nSo he twice tested with the fleece,
\nBoth times God answered affirmative,
\nWhich gave Gideon’s heart some peace.<\/p>\n
\nThe LORD said there are too many men,
\nThey will take credit for the victory,
\nWe must cut back their numbers again.<\/p>\n
\nYet 10,000 soldiers still remained,
\nBut after conducting the water test,
\nOnly 300 fighters had Gideon retained.<\/p>\n
\nWe know the Midianites were done in,
\nGod is not limited by small numbers,
\nThe Lord of Hosts will always win.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
