PROMISES, PROMISES<\/p>\n

Have you ever stopped to notice,
\nHow those politicians operate?
\nPledging to keep their promises,
\nBut not until some future date.<\/p>\n

\u201cVote for me!\u201d they like to shout,
\nAnd I will surely get the job done,
\nBut after they have won election,
\nThe promises kept are not a one.<\/p>\n

And yet the strangest thing of all,
\nIs that when promises are made,
\nThey already have a federal job,
\nAnd they\u2019re being quite well paid.<\/p>\n

So the real question we must ask.
\nIs why they promise so far ahead,
\nShouldn\u2019t they fix problems now,
\nBefore so many are already dead?<\/p>\n

Thus the key point I want to make,
\nIs the folly of trusting in such men,
\nIf they don\u2019t resolve issues today,
\nWhy even trust them to do it then?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
