WHEN THE DAM BROKE <\/p>\n

\nPrecisely when the dam finally broke,
\nI am referring to that pivotal moment,
\nWhen on her sins she began to choke.<\/p>\n
\nI think it was in the 50s when it began,
\nThere was a shift in attitudes & music,
\nBecause the Devil surely had his plan.<\/p>\n
\nA dark spirit of rebellion slowly grew,
\nIf you were carefully paying attention,
\nPerhaps you also saw it growing too.<\/p>\n
\nIt shocked a more conservative crowd,
\nSo unlike the music that was common,
\nIt was certainly aggressive and loud.<\/p>\n
\nAnd tho they say Elvis hated the name,
\nA person can sometimes truly wonder,
\nIf it was his pelvis that gave him fame.<\/p>\n
\nThat a liberal spirit crept into the land,
\nSadly, some seventy years later today,
\nThat wicked spirit is totally out of hand.<\/p>\n
\nWho wanted drugs and peace and love,
\nThey protested against the government,
\nNo more bloody wars or push and shove.<\/p>\n
\nThat the sexual revolution came to be,
\nOne\u2019s personal inhibitions were pass\u00e9,
\nThose young people wanted to be free.<\/p>\n
\nThe music grew more rebellious & bold,
\nWhile sexual promiscuity & many drugs,
\nOn this country took a strangling hold.<\/p>\n
\nIndeed, so greedy, he yet desired more,
\nAbortion, same-sex marriage and trans,
\nWere so carefully advanced to the fore.<\/p>\n
\nIt is split between the red and the blue,
\nSo many rebel against God\u2019s holy laws,
\nWhile His children strive to remain true.<\/p>\n
\nAnd a flood of evil is sweeping us away,
\nThere really isn\u2019t much that we can do,
\nBesides get down and desperately pray.<\/p>\n
\nHow much rebellion should He endure?
\nSooner or later His judgments will fall,
\nBecause America is rotten to the core.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
