Okay, let’s all play at government,
\nIt is really going to be lots of fun,
\nMake a bill, hold our committees,
\nThey will think we get things done.<\/p>\n
Yet if we look much more closely,
\nThe situation is not what it seems,
\nYes, those pols look rather busy,
\nCertain bills are reams and reams.<\/p>\n
But … because of partisan politics,
\nMaking bills can be quite a chore,
\nSo while they appear hard at work,
\nMany will end up dead on the floor.<\/p>\n
All that wasted time, energy, money,
\nBut, alas, nothing really came of it,
\nThus if they cannot get things done,
\nMaybe they should pack up and quit.<\/p>\n
Then there are special committees,
\nThey try to bring people to account,
\nBut after exchanging so many words,
\nQuite often to nothing it will amount.<\/p>\n
Yes, after putting on a political show,
\nThe questioned just walks away free,
\nSo why even bother to make a case,
\nThe circus are you beginning to see?<\/p>\n
Performers are found in both rings,
\nHe is just a shrewd career politician,
\nWhile you think he gets the job done,
\nHe is in fact just one crafty magician.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
