DATE SETTERS<\/p>\n

They assured us Jesus is coming,
\nI waited patiently for many years,
\nAlas, finally the great day arrived,
\nBut my sad face is awash in tears.<\/p>\n

I believed with much anticipation,
\nYet no signs appeared in the sky,
\nJust clouds, stars and moon glow,
\nThus now I am asking myself why.<\/p>\n

The answer is really quite simple,
\nSuch date setters are never right,
\nThey claim they had a revelation,
\nBut it wasn\u2019t God\u2019s heavenly light.<\/p>\n

Such thots are often born of pride,
\nAnd a desire to be someone great,
\nOh, yes, a wonderful holy prophet,
\nBut they took that old Devil\u2019s bait.<\/p>\n

It is better to serve with humility,
\nThan try to establish one\u2019s name,
\nFor if you should prophesy falsely,
\nYou will surely be left with shame.<\/p>\n

But even much more importantly,
\nIs the faith you may even destroy,
\nSo you better get right with God,
\nRemember His gifts are not a toy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
