THE PERFECT CHURCH? <\/p>\n

\nThat guy was really quite a clown,
\nTheir entire congregation agreed,
\nHe was the coolest pastor in town.<\/p>\n
\nTo play those church folks a tune,
\nTheir singer was quite handsome,
\nOh how the women would swoon.<\/p>\n
\nEverybody came by to get a treat,
\nThe event was a fine social affair,
\nWhere the townsfolk would meet.<\/p>\n
\nNo sweeter sound one could hear,
\nThose proud parents sang along,
\nAs the kids smiled from ear to ear.<\/p>\n
\nAbsolutely anyone was allowed in,
\nEven tho behind the public curtain,
\nTheir lives were full of terrible sin.<\/p>\n
\nCertain members were into LGBT,
\nDrunks were beating their wives,
\nUgly things no one wanted to see.<\/p>\n
\nOn the surface you could not tell,
\nThat despite such an appearance,
\nMany people were bound for Hell.<\/p>\n
\nHe wanted to be such a swell guy,
\nSo instead of preaching the truth,
\nHe\u2019d always tell those people a lie.<\/p>\n
\nHe never dared to mention any sin,
\nNo, give them a feel-good religion,
\nSo their hearts he could surely win.<\/p>\n
\nCompromise has filled their pews,
\nMusic, cakes and other nonsense,
\nBut so few sharing the good news.<\/p>\n
\nStrange manifestations and more,
\nIf you ever encounter such a place,
\nI urge you to run straight for a door.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
