DRIFTED AND SIFTED<\/p>\n

Jesus prayed for the Church to be one,
\nJust as He and His most holy Father are,
\nYet tragically as I begin to look around,
\nI cannot help but see we’ve drifted so far.<\/p>\n

Apostle Paul also advised God’s Church,
\nTo speak with one mouth and one mind,
\nBut that old Satan had his wicked plans,
\nAnd sent in divisive, argumentative kind.<\/p>\n

Yes, how he started sifting the brethren,
\nUsing legalism as his weapon of choice,
\nAnd within a matter of a few short years,
\nBrethren no longer spoke with one voice.<\/p>\n

Man worship then invaded God’s flocks,
\nAnd strange doctrines began to abound,
\nWhat had been a united, powerful body,
\nNo longer stood on solid, unified ground.<\/p>\n

Many centuries have passed since then,
\nAnd this division has only grown worse,
\nIt so saddens me to see how Christians,
\nNow destroy each other verse by verse.<\/p>\n

Yes, we’ve been sifted & have so drifted,
\nWe’re no longer the Church Jesus found,
\nIf the Lord were to visit our current time,
\nDo you think He’d want to stick around?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
