While I could just be like everybody else,
\nAnd speak and preach the same refrain,
\nThat’s not what God has asked me to do,
\nNo, He called me to go against the grain.<\/p>\n
Now I don’t do it just so I can be different,
\nAnd it is not that I only want to complain,
\nBut when I examine the Holy Scriptures,
\nI just understand them in a different vein.<\/p>\n
So many folks mirror what they’ve heard,
\nThey don’t study the Bible for themselves,
\nMerely repeating their church’s traditions,
\nWhile the Bible sits dusty on their shelves.<\/p>\n
But as for me, I am really just not like them,
\nI so enjoy digging deeply into God’s Word,
\nThen after the Holy Spirit has guided me,
\nI share all those things which I have heard.<\/p>\n
But, you see, that is where the rub comes,
\nI teach stuff that others don’t want to hear,
\nIf it’s contrary to their own church doctrine,
\nWell then they won’t even give me their ear.<\/p>\n
But God did not call me to be a manpleaser,
\nAnd political correctness just isn’t my style,
\nThus even tho some folks speak against me,
\nI simply won’t turn down my preaching dial.<\/p>\n
By God’s grace I shall continue on this path,
\nRegardless of naysayers who do not agree,
\nTho condemnation may be thrown my way,
\nI will still be what God has chosen me to be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
