\nI know for sure that it’s really true,
\nYou think you’ve got 1000s of friends,
\nBut they’re simply bots following you.<\/p>\n
\nMan I must really be just one cool guy,
\nBut if you dare to examine more closely,
\nYou’ll discover it is all a big fat lie.<\/p>\n
\nAre just part of that network’s scheme,
\nThey slyly send out an army of robots,
\nTrust me, things are not what they seem.<\/p>\n
\nA shocking discovery you’re sure to make,
\nThat young pretty woman who followed you,
\nMy gosh, she is really just one big fake!<\/p>\n
\nAlthough she has had an account for years,
\nShe does not have a personal profile pic,
\nSo you start getting hot around your ears.<\/p>\n
\nAs social networks bloat their population,
\nIt is a tactic so many of them like to use,
\nYour discovery fills you with indignation.<\/p>\n
\nConvincing you that you had so many friends,
\nBut, pal, your experience is not so unique,
\nThat’s how this deceptive story often ends.<\/p>\n
\nWho are all caught up in the very same game,
\nThe social network’s army of bogus followers,
\nConvince you that you’ve got a slice of fame.<\/p>\n
\nBy telling you about this distasteful truth,
\nYeah, I really don’t blame you one single bit,
\nIf you suddenly want to go through the roof.<\/p>\n
\nI’d do the same if I had also been so played,
\nBut the great thing about my sarcastic poem,
\nIs that the deceptive networks have been made.<\/p>\n
