ANOTHER WAR<\/p>\n

For their nation they all fought,
\nJust like countless wars before,
\nBlood flowed thick in the fields,
\nSo much pain one could not ignore.<\/p>\n

Many weren’t much older than boys,
\nYou could almost smell their fear,
\nAs the enemy began their charge,
\nA boy asked “What am I doing here?”<\/p>\n

That young man had been a farmer,
\nHe’d only known the ways of peace,
\nNo quarrel he had with the enemy,
\nHe wished the violence would cease.<\/p>\n

Government claimed to know better,
\nSo those boys marched thru the mud,
\nAs the bullets made many men fall,
\nThe earth sucked up their blood.<\/p>\n

At last the war was finally over,
\nA great victory had been achieved,
\nThe nation celebrated with parades,
\nWhile parents at home just grieved.<\/p>\n

Their child would never celebrate,
\nHe too had fallen on that sad day,
\nFor a cause he did not understand,
\nWith his life he was forced to pay.<\/p>\n

So often this same story is repeated,
\nGovernment always finds a new fight,
\nWhen a nation is constantly at war,
\nClearly something is just not right.<\/p>\n

Rather blessed are the peacemakers,
\nThis is what our Lord clearly said,
\nIf we choose to take up the sword,
\nBy that weapon we may end up dead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
