A GREAT NATION?<\/p>\n

Some people say that a great nation,
\nIs one that carries the biggest sword,
\nOthers say that it’s a nation so rich,
\nThat there’s nothing it cannot afford.<\/p>\n

However the Book of Proverbs tells us,
\nBy righteousness a nation is exalted,
\nBut it brings us shame and a reproach,
\nWhen with sin our country is faulted.<\/p>\n

Sadly I see so many American patriots,
\nClaiming our nation God should bless,
\nYet as I look around at this country,
\nIt is clear we are in a spiritual mess.<\/p>\n

There is no denying our sins abound,
\nFrom same-sex marriage to abortion,
\nWe must humble ourselves and repent,
\nOr we will face God’s wrathful portion.<\/p>\n

There is no reward for our disobedience,
\nIf we rebel against the Word of the Lord,
\nHis great blessings won’t be forthcoming,
\nBut rather God’s fire, hammer and sword.<\/p>\n

So we must all turn from our wicked ways,
\nFor it is only then that God will forgive,
\nAfter all, the Bible clearly informs us,
\nGod’s true desire is that we should live.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
