INDEPENDENCE DAY<\/p>\n

No doubt you think you know,
\nWhat this poem is all about,
\nBut let’s just take a minute,
\nSo that we can talk this out.<\/p>\n

Now Independence Day to some,
\nConcerns a nation’s liberation,
\nBut not so with me, my friend,
\nIt’s really about my graduation.<\/p>\n

What in the world do you mean?
\nI honestly don’t have a clue,
\nWe all celebrate our freedom,
\nWith the red, white and blue.<\/p>\n

Yes, I know that’s your custom,
\nAnd I really mean no offense,
\nBut as for me Independence Day,
\nIs when I take my leave hence.<\/p>\n

You see, I believe in Jesus,
\nAnd He made a promise to me,
\nThat when this life is over,
\nI will finally be set free.<\/p>\n

This here body is getting old,
\nAnd it’s slowly falling apart,
\nBut there’s no need to worry,
\nI will get a brand new start.<\/p>\n

Yes, a wonderful heavenly body,
\nIs promised to all who believe,
\nSo it will be the greatest day,
\nWhen at last I take my leave.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
