“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.” “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” “But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;” “But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.” Note :<\/strong> The word “brute” means to be destitute of reason in Greek. In other words, because they lack the Spirit of God, and must therefore rely upon their human wisdom, they view our Christian beliefs as foolishness:<\/p>\n “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” [To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
