SADNESS

by Bill Kochman

05-03-2014

Sadness can be such a terribly lonely thing,
Robbing us of joy so we don’t want to sing.
Both energy and spirit are brought down low,
Satan takes advantage with a knock-down blow.

Sadness is a prison with bars raised up high,
We question and wonder and ask ourselves why.
Has God abandoned us, does He no longer care,
Are our sins so great, for us alone to bear?

Nay child, your prison is of your own making,
Jesus opens the door, frees you from aching.
He heals broken hearts, He opens eyes to see,
He restores your joy, and gives you victory.
