This short article is a firm, personal warning to all of my online friends regarding an individual who goes by the name of Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq. For any of my friends who may possibly not have heard of this deceptive man yet, he is an Egyptian-American, and the leader of a relatively recent new cult called the "Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light". He operates a YouTube channel called "The Mahdi Has Appeared" -- which was apparently started in 2022 -- which has an amazing 85,000 subscribers as of December 10, 2025, and a total of almost 32,000,000 views. His channel has created over 4,400 videos to date. His sister YouTube channel called "Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light" has over 34,000 subscribers as of December 10, 2025, and almost 4,000,000 views. The second channel has created over 2,000 videos to date. In short, the guy is obviously quite the online influencer.

His followers believe that he is the "Qa'im" of the family of the Islamic "prophet" Muhammad, and the second of twelve Mahdis prophesied to appear on the world stage according to Muhammad. Thus, he is called "Qa'im Al Muhammad". This man says that he is NOT the messiah, but only a messenger. The word "qa'im" means "one who rises" or "riser". In other words, one who is supposedly prophesied to rise in the line of descendants from Muhammad. It is claimed that this man will supposedly restore justice and righteousness on the Earth. Well now, does that not sound kind of familiar? Is that not in fact what the Bible says that Jesus does?

For those of my readers who may possibly not know who or what the Mahdi is according to Islamic theology, as I explain in my two-part article called "Prophetic Comparisons: Mashiach, Mahdi and Messiah", just as we Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the one true Messiah, and just as the Orthodox Jews are still awaiting for their supposed "messiah" -- Mashiach ben David -- within the Islamic religion, there likewise is a strong belief in the long-anticipated return of another great Muslim leader and "messiah" which the Hadith -- a collection of the sayings of Muhammad -- refer to as "al-Mahdi".

While both the Shi'a -- or Shi'ite -- and the Sunni branches of Islam embrace this particular doctrine, this belief seems to be more pronounced amongst the Shi'ite Muslims, than it is amongst the Sunni Muslims. Furthermore, the specific beliefs concerning al-Mahdi which are embraced by the Shi'ites and the Sunnis are not exactly the same. So let me share with you some of the things which the Shi'ites believe regarding their anticipated "prophet" al-Mahdi.

According to the beliefs of the Shi'a branch of Islam, there have been exactly twelve divinely anointed leaders of Islam, since the religion was founded by Muhammad during the early 7th Century. These twelve ordained leaders are referred to as the Twelve Imams. The actual number of ordained leaders who have presided over Islam since its founding by Muhammad is a matter of dispute between the different branches of Islam. In fact, it is this very argument which resulted in the split, and the formation of the Sunni and the Shi'a Islamic sects.

At any rate, because of the fact that the Shi'ites embrace this belief concerning there only being twelve imams, they are sometimes referred to as the Twelvers. The Twelver branch of Shi'ite Islam is now prominent in Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Lebanon and Bahrain. There are also large minorities in the countries of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

So exactly what is the origin of the Islamic belief in the return of the Mahdi? According to Shi'ite Islamic doctrine, the Twelfth Imam -- Muhammad al-Mahdi -- was born in 869 AD. However, at the young age of five, after presiding over his father's funeral prayer -- his father, Hasan al-Askari, was the Eleventh Imam -- Muhammad al-Mahdi suddenly disappeared. This occurred in 874 AD. Shi'a Muslims believe that he was hidden by God, and are convinced that Muhammad al-Mahdi has been alive ever since that time, but that he has been in occultation. That is to say, he has been hidden from public view. They refer to this act of being hidden as "ghaybat".

Shi'as likewise believe that Muhammad al-Mahdi -- the Twelfth Imam -- has been waiting, according to God's decree, for the right time when he should return to lead the Islamic nations, and the world. It is their belief that just as the world is currently filled with injustice, oppression and tyranny, he is going to fill the Earth with peace and justice. Of course, you need to understand that the way in which al-Mahdi intends to do this is by converting the entire world to Islam, by the sword if necessary. According to different sources, al-Mahdi will rule the earth for a period of five to nine years. While he is commonly known as al-Mahdi -- or the Guided One -- this prophesied Islamic leader is likewise known by the following names within the Shi'a branch of Islam:

Al-Muntathar - the Awaited one
Al-Qa'im - the Rising one
ahab az-Zaman - the Master of the Age
Imam az-Zaman - the Leader of the Age
Wali al-'Asr - the Guardian of the Era, or
    - the Guardian in the Twilight [of man]
Al-Hujjah - the Proof [of Allah's justice]

In his 1985 book entitled "An Introduction To Shi'i Islam", Baha'i scholar Momen Moojan suggests another possible way in which to interpret the meaning of the Mahdi's occultation. According to Moojan, it may mean that al-Mahdi is currently on the Earth "among the body of the Shia", but that he is simply "incognito". Moojan also mentions that "numerous stories" exist which describe al-Mahdi "manifesting himself to prominent members of the ulama". The word "ulama" refers to the body of Muslim legal scholars who are recognized as having specialized knowledge concerning Islamic sacred law -- or Shari'a -- and Islamic theology. As I read Moojan's comments concerning al-Mahdi appearing before some members of the ulama, I was reminded of stories I read a number of years ago regarding how the so-called "Lord Maitreya" also made certain sudden and mysterious appearances before some people, such as in Nairobi, Kenya. Whether or not these two individuals are related in some way, I honestly do not know.

If you are one who keeps abreast of the news and developments in the Middle East, then you may already know that there has been much talk within the Islamic world in recent years that the return of the Mahdi is imminent. A previous president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was particularly vocal about this. In fact, according to one particular video which I saw online a number of years ago, it was claimed that Ahmadinejad was in contact with the Mahdi at that particular time. Whether or not this was simply Western propaganda, I really do not know.

At any rate, returning to the present, and our main topic of discussion, on his YouTube channel, among other things, this deceived man named Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq claims to be the successor to Simon Peter, the successor to Jesus Christ, and the true and legitimate Pope. Yes, my jaw also dropped. The guy is obviously making some very boastful claims. Sadly, some people -- mainly the Muslims, of course -- are sucking his deception right up, going by his number of subscribers and channel views.

I have watched a few of this deceiver's videos since I first became aware of him in March of this same year. His videos have a certain spookiness to them with dimmed lighting and background music as he speaks in mixed English and Arabic. He has a very serious look on his face, and he speaks with confidence from his raised podium as his audience intently listens to him.

My friends, be warned! This man is extremely deceptive! He is very smooth-talking and also appears to be well-versed in Christianity, Judaism and Islam. While he says that all three monotheistic religions have failed -- which is quite true -- nevertheless, he has created his own type of hybrid religion where he knowledgeably quotes quite extensively from the holy books of all three of these religions, very easily switching from one to the other as he speaks to his captivated audience.

However, the way he twists the meaning of some of the Bible verses he quotes is extremely deceptive. The danger here is that people who don't have a strong foundation in the Bible will easily be deceived by him, because similar to Satan himself who is a shrewd master of words, this Islamic false prophet mixes in a lot of truth, and things which you will even readily agree with, in his crafty video sermons.

For example, in one sermon he expresses his strong dislike for the United States of America, and he falsely makes the claim that the Antichrist is NOT a sole individual as many modern Christians believe, but rather the United States as a whole. Of course, as many of my readers will know, this is NOT really a new doctrine. After all, the religionists in Iran have used the worn-out mantra that the US is the "Great Satan" ever since the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini launched his Iranian or -- Islamic -- Revolution in 1979. It was at that time that the Shah of Iran -- Mohammad Reza Pahlavi -- who was pro-Western, was ousted from power. As I said, this deceptive man, Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq, does say a lot of things which are true. Thus, he does expose the many sins of the USA, which even I can agree with to a certain degree.

However, where this false Islamic prophet falls into rather serious error, is when he claims that the fourth beast with the teeth of iron -- which is found in Daniel chapter seven -- which devours the whole earth, corresponds to the modern warmongering United States. My friends, this is absolutely incorrect! As I explain in some of my Bill's Bible Basics articles which are listed at the end of this same article, it has been long believed by many Christians -- including myself -- that the fourth beast actually corresponds to the Roman Empire. In fact, the fourth beast with teeth of iron corresponds to the two legs of iron in Daniel chapter two as well. They are BOTH symbolic of the Roman Empire.

In another one of his videos where this same false Islamic prophet is discussing the recent death of Pope Francis, he makes the absurd claim that the Pope's death was a modern miracle of God, and that the Pope was swallowed up by the earth, similar to the sons of Korah being swallowed up in the Old Testament during the time of Moses. He says this happened because Francis was a false, liberal pope. As I said, this deceiver does in fact mix in bits of truth with all of his lies and deceptions. After all, my friends, even you and I recognize that Francis was a very liberal-minded Pope. However, everything else this "Qa'im" says regarding Francis' death is totally bogus and self-serving, being as he claims to be the true and legitimate Pope.

This Islamic deceiver also claims that Jesus and Satan are actually brothers. As you may know, the Mormons -- aka The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints -- promote this very same utterly false doctrine. Furthermore, to add insult to injury, this false prophet also says that Christians and Muslims are brothers, even though the Qur'an teaches quite the opposite. As I explain in my series called "Holy Qur'an and Islam: A Doctrine of Devils?", it in fact tells Muslims to NOT make friends with Christians or Jews, and to smite them on the neck if they will not submit to Allah and Islam. That certainly does NOT sound like we are brothers to me.

As if that is not enough, this false prophet also claims that only Christians and Muslims believe that Jesus is the Messiah, which is likewise -- and obviously -- a very huge lie. Again, if you take the time to read "Holy Qur'an and Islam: A Doctrine of Devils?", you will discover that just like the antichrist Jews, true Muslims do NOT believe that God has a son. Neither do they believe that Jesus Christ was crucified, died and then rose from the dead. They hold the view that similar to Muhammad -- who they claim ascended to Heaven while standing on the Dome of the Rock in an event referred to as "the Mi'raj in Islam -- Jesus also ascended to Heaven.

To be clear, while Muslims do respect Jesus -- who in the Qur'an is known by the Islamic/Arabic name of Isa -- as a great Prophet, they also believe that Muhammad is greater than Jesus. Furthermore, they also believe that al-Mahdi is greater than Jesus as well. Furthermore, Muslims hold the view that Jesus will submit himself to al-Mahdi when their great "prophet" arrives on the Earth. Again, I discuss this in the aforementioned article called "Prophetic Comparisons: Mashiach, Mahdi and Messiah".

By the way, on a side note, while the Qur'an refers to Jesus Christ as "Isa", it's very important to point out to you that Arabic-speaking Christians do NOT use this name. Instead, in order to differentiate themselves from teachings as found in the Qur'an, they use the name "Yesu" for Jesus instead. This is a derivation of the Hebrew "Yeshua".

As I have already made quite clear, this Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq fellow has got some really twisted theology which combines Christianity, Judaism and Islam. It's a very warped and perverted hybrid religion. That is why this fellow is so dangerously deceptive. I suspect that he will appeal to a lot of ignorant people who are tired of organized religion, and who probably don't have a strong foundation in the Bible. It may interest you to know that the fervor of his followers is such, that in some of his videos, they shout and pump their raised fists after he is done speaking. As I said, this cult or movement, or whatever it is, is extremely deceptive in my view. So again, please steer clear of this man! You've been warned!

Honestly speaking, I really do not expect that any Christians who are truly grounded in God's Word, and who also possess a degree of Spiritual Discernment, will fall for this Islamic deceiver. Nevertheless, it does not hurt to send out a word of warning. Thus, I have chosen to write this short article.

With these thoughts, I will bring this article to a close. It is my hope that you've found it informative and enlightening, and I pray that it has been a blessing in your life as well.
