Continuing our discuss from part eight, personally, given our human nature, at this point in time, my view is that the war on drugs will NEVER really be won, as long as there are any American citizens remaining who still crave their drugs, plain and simple. As you can obviously see, this is a rather tall order, and undoubtedly an extremely difficult objective to ever achieve. In fact, it is probably next to impossible to ever truly achieve. Furthermore, if we are really being honest with ourselves, the idea of any American president ever stopping every single drug boat, every single narcotics trafficker, and every single local drug pusher is just as insurmountable a task. So it seems to me that realistically speaking, the drug problem will remain with us for a very long time to come. Yes, it's indeed tragic, but it is also the truth.
However, this does NOT mean that it is impossible for any of us to ever obtain personal victories in our lives over this nagging problem. To the contrary, I know and believe that it is indeed quite possible, if we truly desire such a victory, and if we are willing to put in the work to accomplish it. After all, as the Scriptures inform us:
"But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible., "
Matthew 19:26, KJV
"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth., "
Mark 9:23, KJV
"And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible., "

"And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt., "

"For with God nothing shall be impossible., "

"And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God., "

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,, "

However, for this to happen, I am also convinced that it is our human nature, and our human desires, which must change first. If this desire for change is really there, then it is possible for us to obtain not only a victory in our personal lives, but even to contribute to a wider victory over this dangerous scourge which plagues the American homeland. But again, being a realist, I just don't see how it will ever become a permanent, nationwide victory, because there are simply too many factors working against it for it to ever succeed. Of course, you may feel differently regarding this issue. That is your right.
As a Bible-believing Christian myself, I am convinced that on a personal level at least, this victory over drugs can be accomplished through placing our faith in Jesus Christ, and through acquiring a strong foundation in the Bible, which serves as our guide for teaching us how to live good and proper Christian lives which are pleasing to the Lord. In other words, we must each strive to adhere to the precepts of God's Word. That is to say, we must follow God's moral code or law. Of course, this process of transformation and renewal begins by being spiritually reborn, exactly as the Lord informed the Pharisee Nicodemus in the following group of Bible verses:
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mothers womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit., "
John 3:3-8, KJV
In short, we must become new creatures in Jesus Christ with transformed and renewed minds, and regenerated hearts. The Apostle Paul referred to this rebirth process as putting off the old man, and putting on the new man, as you can easily see by the following group of Bible verses:
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new., "
2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God., "
Romans 12:2, KJV
"And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness., "
Ephesians 4:24, KJV
"And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:, "
Colossians 3:10, KJV
"That ye put off concerning the former conversation [manner of life, conduct, behavior] the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;, "
Ephesians 4:22, KJV
"Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;, "

So as you can hopefully see, faith in Jesus Christ is indeed what can truly give us the victory in our lives which we so desperately desire and need. I hope that you will choose to personally accept the Lord into your life and heart, if you have not already done so. Simply pray and and invite Him in. Ask Him to fill you with His life-changing Spirit. Allow me to leave you with a few final Bible verses for your personal consideration:
"THAT CHRIST MAY DWELL IN YOUR HEARTS BY FAITH; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,, "

"To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory:, "

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, IF SO BE THAT THE SPIRIT OF GOD DWELL IN YOU. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his., "
