A discussion regarding adaptation -- also known as micro-evolution -- evolution -- also known as macro-evolution -- and the Six Days of Creation as found in the Book of Genesis

But concerning the verse from Peter, some eschatologists even propose that each thousand years of the Earth's physical age corresponds to one Celestial Day, and that the Lord is soon going to enter His seventh day of rest when the Millennium begins after the Second Coming of Christ. I am not saying I support this theory or interpretation, but it is interesting enough to merit some consideration. Others use this same verse to suggest the idea that the Genesis days were not just thousands, but perhaps millions of years each. However, from taking a closer look at the Scriptures, I am of the opinion that these were literal days as we know them today. To begin with, notice the common phrase which is used over and over again throughout the account of Creation:

"And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day . . . And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day . . . And the evening and the morning were the third day . . . And the evening and the morning were the fourth day . . . And the evening and the morning were the fifth day . . . And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."
Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31, KJV

Notice how over and over again we are told "the evening and the morning". Those are literal evenings and literal mornings. If we look at verse fourteen of the same chapter, we see another hint that these are to be taken literally and not figuratively:

"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"
Genesis 1:14, KJV

Of course, in the very next verses we have the creation of the Sun and the Moon. Therefore, these days, nights, seasons and years are very literal and mean the same exact thing as they do today. Here is another interesting example which supports the idea that these days are literal and not symbolic in nature. In the following verses we read of the creation of the trees, the grass of the field, etc. on the second day of Creation:

"And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good."
Genesis 1:8-12, KJV

As any biology teacher or half-educated person is aware, without sunlight and the process of photosynthesis, all living things which require chlorophyll would die in a very short period of time. In fact, all living things would die, whether they be land-based or water-based, because somewhere along the food chain, we all depend upon vegetation for survival. God of course knew this too. Thus, on the very next day, the third day, we have the creation of the Sun, Moon and stars:

"And the evening and the morning were the third day. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good."
Genesis 1:13-18, KJV

Now one might argue, "Well, if God is God, He could have delayed it. He could have kept them alive without sunlight." This is indeed true, but why do it if it isn't necessary? What purpose would it serve to create plant life on the second day and then keep it in the dark for thousands or millions of years? As I point out in other articles, our God is a very logical orderly God. He knew exactly what He was doing. Creating the Sun on the very next day seems like the logical thing to do to me. Furthermore, if He is God, what would stop Him from doing it all at once as the Bible describes? I just don't see the rationale in doing it any other way. It is only in the confused minds of atheistic scientists and EVILutionists that the Truth fails to take root. Throughout the Bible there is a very perfect order and description of events. In every place that I know of personally, a day is described as a twenty-four hour period, just as we know it today. When Moses was giving the commandments regarding the sabbath to the ancient Hebrews in the book of Exodus, he said:

"For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."
Exodus 20:11, KJV

Now, if he really meant thousands or millions of years, why didn't he just say so? While we don't find these words in the Bible, they did have a way to express such large figures. It was thousands of thousands. Yet, Moses didn't say thousands of thousands; he said "six days" just as is written in the Book of Genesis. He said exactly what God told him to say. He was speaking and writing in the human context of time; just as Jesus would do several thousand years later. Consider exactly what Jesus said to His disciples:

". . . Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world."
John 11:9b, KJV

Here He was referring to the literal twelve daylight hours as opposed to the twelve hours of the night when men could not work. He was showing how a spiritual darkness -- and persecution -- would come upon the whole world after His departure from this life. The entire Bible is written in the same format of days, months and years. The only difference that I know of is that the Jewish year is divided into twelve months of thirty days each for a total of three hundred and sixty days, as opposed to our Western year of three hundred sixty-five days and a quarter. In fact, I read recently, and I cannot confirm this, that there is something which is referred to as the Celestial Calendar. According to this theory, the year is divided into four periods of thirteen weeks each with one additional day tacked on to the end of each period. While I cannot verify or refute this, it might be worth looking into. One thing we do know from a careful reading of the Gospels is that even in Jesus' time, the day still began at sunset and ended at sunset, just as it had done for the past four thousand years since the book of Genesis. This clearly points to the rotation of the Earth and its revolution around the Sun as a point of reference for telling us exactly how long a Biblical day and year are. Something else which I found extremely interesting, which I hope to investigate further, is the importance of the six days followed by the sabbath. If you undertake a Bible search using the phrase "six days", you will discover a few interesting results, particularly surrounding Jesus' ministry.

There are other examples to show how a Biblical day was a twenty-four hour period as well; however, I will leave it at that for now. For anyone who is truly interested in, and who sincerely wants to be convinced of the Truth, this should be sufficient evidence. If it isn't, then it is just because they are resisting it. So let me say that, yes, God could have chosen to create Adam over millions of years as some form of "hominid" as this person has suggested; but if He is an all-powerful, almighty and logical God, why do it? In my mind, it just doesn't make sense. To stretch the Six Days into thousands or millions of years is to detract from God's greatness . . . and that is exactly what the enemies of Truth hope to do through their vain lies and erroneous theories. You see, if they can disprove the existence of a Supreme Being who not only created the Universe, but Who continues to watch over His Creation, then this totally nullifies the idea of accountability. In essence, we become our own gods. We can all behave as we want as there is no longer a need to fear Divine Retribution. Granted, we will face human justice if we get caught doing something wrong, but it removes the greater burden of having to face an angry God.

The crux of the matter is, regardless of what you believe in, whether it be The Big Bang theory, the process of EVILution, or the Biblical account of the Six Days of Creation, it all requires faith. It takes faith to believe in The Big Bang. It takes faith to believe in EVILution. It takes faith to believe in the Bible. Why? Because they are all belief systems or religions in their own rights. Each one has their group of staunch believers and supporters. This brings us to something which I have discussed in a number of my other articles: the freedom of personal choice. We each believe what we believe because we CHOOSE to of our own accord. Personally, I have chosen to believe in the account of Creation as described in the book of Genesis. I believe there is a Divine Intelligence behind the Creation of the universe. I believe there is a God. Everything in this physical universe points to a Great Designer and a Creator.

Consider a simple wristwatch. You quickly realize that it really isn't that simple once you open it up and look at all of those hidden tiny gears, cogs, springs, etc. It required quite a degree of intelligence to create such a little marvel. Now consider something even more complicated such as that computer you are using. It likewise had a designer and creator. In fact, it probably required a number of designers and creators to bring all of the different components together. Now, let's continue going up one level at a time and see where we end up. Consider the intricacies of the human body which is similar to a computer but is even more complicated because it is a living organism. It too has a Designer and a Creator. The beautiful Earth on which we live with its surrounding atmosphere has a Designer and a Creator. Our solar system has a Designer and a Creator Who keeps things rotating and revolving in perfect synchronicity. The entire universe has a Designer and a Creator without Whom everything would be in utter chaos banging in to each other or flying off in all kinds of directions. He is the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, and all things therein:

"Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;"
Isaiah 44:24, KJV

So then, even if you have never read the Bible or heard about Jesus, using the simple process of logic, moving up the scale of life one step at a time, observing the physical world and universe around you, one would still have to come to the inevitable conclusion that there is an Intelligent Guiding Force behind all of Creation. It is an inescapable reality for any rational thinking human being. Sub-atomic particles, atoms, molecules, matter, did not just randomly come together and form the universe through some vague chance millions or billions of years ago. Life on this planet did not slowly evolve through some process of natural selection as the witchdoctors of modern science would have us believe. The odds are totally against such incidents ever happening. In my view, it takes a lot more faith to believe that rot than it does to believe in the Bible. Without Intelligence and Guidance behind it, left unattended, nature tends towards chaos, and NOT towards the ordered established universe we have today where everything is perfectly balanced, maintained and controlled. This is a law of science, and it is one of the laws of God as well. God is not the author of confusion:

"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
1 Corinthians 14:33, KJV

Any family, town, city, state, country or world which does not have some kind of leadership would quickly fall into chaos, into a total state of anarchy and confusion. There must be some kind of central force in each of these units to hold things together. On the universal scale, this is what God is and does. He created all things and continues to hold them together by His own will and pleasure:

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."
Revelation 4:11, KJV

It is only when we humans tamper with the natural forces designed and created by God, that we gets a brief glimpse of the awesome power which binds things together. Consider what happens when man attempts to discover and utilize the secrets of God's basic building block, the atom. Remember Nagasaki and Hiroshima. As I have stated in other articles, because man is not a god, the Lord knew that he did not and does not have the wisdom to handle all knowledge. This is why Adam and Eve were prohibited from even going near the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden. The Lord knew exactly what would happen if they did; and we have been paying for it ever since. In fact, time is ticking away as we continue to move ever forward towards our own destruction at an alarming rate. If the Lord didn't intervene, we would all perish by our own hand:

"And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."
Matthew 24:22, KJV

Remember, God is a Creator, while Satan is a Destroyer. Satan's whole plan since the very beginning of Creation has been to destroy the works of God; not only His physical works, but our faith in Him as well. The theory of EVILution is just one way in which he seeks to accomplish his demonic goal. In fact, "Destroyer" is one of the names given to him in the Bible, as we can determine by this verse:

"And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon."
Revelation 9:11, KJV

[Note: Apollyon means destroyer, as does Abaddon.]

Exactly what the process was which God used to bring things into being, I cannot honestly say. As explained in other articles, we are told that He merely spoke the Word, and things came into physical being. From the first chapter of the Gospel of John, as well as many other verses, we know that this magnificent act of Creation was accomplished by none other than His Son Jesus Christ with His Father's permission and possible assistance:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
John 1:1-3, KJV

"And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:"
Ephesians 3:9, KJV

"Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;"
Hebrews 1:2, KJV

In taking a closer look at Genesis, if we accept things in their literal order, then we see that the Earth was created first, followed by the Sun, Moon and stars. If we consider that this was all accomplished in a matter of six Earth days, then in a cosmic sense, life and the universe did in fact appear suddenly. Perhaps this gives some merit to the Big Bang Theory and an expanding universe. I really can't say with any degree of certainty as I am not an expert in these matters.

From what I have read, even honest scientists who have studied the fossil layers are becoming more and more convinced that a Great Flood occurred in Earth's ancient past. One book which deals with this topic is called "The Genesis Flood". From what I understand, at various excavation sites they have discovered what they believe to be the primordial layer. This layer is replete with a diversity of life forms such as would be present following the days of Creation. Before this, there is absolutely nothing. It is as if there was no life whatsoever, and then suddenly an amazing myriad of life. After this, I believe I read that there are more layers followed by thick layers of mud. I can't remember the exact thickness of these layers, but it was much deeper than what would normally be expected. This seems indicative of the Flood of Genesis which covered everything which had died during The Deluge. This is then followed by additional layers where fossilized remnants appear to slowly increase again, possibly suggestive of the slow repopulation of the Earth following the Flood. I may not have this all exactly right, but I believe it is fairly close to what I have read.

There is more and more scientific evidence refuting EVILution everyday, yet some of these ministers of darkness persist in their insidious ways, spreading their lies through indoctrination programs in our public school system, on public television, etc. Have you noticed how dinosaurs continue to be popular in kids television shows as well as at the movie theaters? Jurassic Park was a classic example of this. There have been many books and videos made and written full of scientific data which exposes the weaknesses of EVILution. Many of these works have been done by well respected people in the scientific community who have finally seen the Truth; yet still EVILution is a disease which refuses to die because atheistic scientists refuse to let it go the way of all unproven and discarded theories.

As mentioned towards the beginning of this article, Genesis also states that each species of life was created to produce its own kind, whether it be plant or animal. There is absolutely no mention of things slowly evolving over millions of years. Again, EVILution is a theory of fools and atheists and God-haters. It is a scientific guess and nothing more, and it is full of holes. No missing links have ever been discovered. All of the supposed ones, such as Lucy, have been proven to be hoaxes or scientific errors. We do not see things evolving around us today in some half-way stage of development. There are no apple-pears, or bird-fishes, or anything else. If such things exist, then they must be in the laboratories of unrestrained genetic engineers who are trying to play "god".

As I said earlier, due to my own experiences, I believe in limited adaptation, but I do not believe in full-blown EVILution. Even if the Wisteria plant had millions of years to continue to grow, which it doesn't, I don't believe that it is going to someday evolve into two separate plants, each one with its own kind of leaves. Consider the Bristle Pine, purportedly one of the oldest living trees in the world. If EVILution is real, then one would think that three or four thousand years is sufficient time for the Bristle Pine to show at least minimal signs of developing into something else, but it hasn't; at least I haven't heard about it. Have you? You see, this is the "beauty" of EVILution: they attach such long periods of time for such changes to occur, that no one can possibly counter their claims. None of us live long enough to notice any observable changes. Through their own diabolical wisdom, they think they have outsmarted us all; but they haven't. And most importantly, they certainly haven't outsmarted God.

Personally, I do not understand how anyone can claim to believe in God and the Bible, and yet still believe in EVILution. They are two opposing forces. Both cannot be true. If you believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God which clearly states that God created everything in six literal days, how can you turn around and say you support EVILution which directly contradicts the Book of Genesis thus making God a liar, and the Bible a lie? For me personally, believing in the Bible is synonymous with believing in God. I just don't see how there can be any meeting ground between biblical Creationism and EVILution. They are in direct confrontation with each other. The Bible says Six Days, and EVILution says millions of years. All I know is, once you are exposed to the Truth, you have to make a conscious choice to either accept it, or else reject it. You can no longer remain sitting on the fence. You have to make a choice either in favor of God's Truth, or in favor of Satan's lies, especially his Big Lie called EVILution! As Jesus Himself said:

"If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin."
John 15:22, KJV

There is no way around this for anyone. Either you believe in a literal six-day Creation as stated in Genesis, or else you don't. As far as I am concerned, this should be a black and white issue with all sincere Christians. No one should be trying to compromise between the two for the sake of keeping friends, being accepted, or being fearful of being ridiculed by the ignorant masses who follow in the way of Cain, as Jude writes in this verse:

"Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core."
Jude 1:11, KJV

Neither should they be hiring false shepherds who will tickle their ears with misguided doctrines and modern secular humanist thought. The Apostle Peter admonishes us to desire the sincere, unadulterated Word of God, as we see here:

"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"
1 Peter 2:2, KJV

As I have pointed out in quite a few other articles, the minute we reject the Truth of God's word, Satan comes in with his flood of lies, doubts and confusion. Our spirits are like vacuums. If we don't allow them to be filled with the Truth and Faith in God's Word, then we must fill them with something else, and that is the lies of Satan. No one, not even myself, can force anyone to believe anything against their will. As the old saying goes, "A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still". As a Christian, the only thing I can do is to present what I believe to be the Truth of God's Word. Whether you accept it or reject it is your personal choice. As Christians, we are meant to serve as emissaries of our King, as message bearers of His Word. Once we have delivered the goods, the recipient must then choose what they want to do with it. That is what this life is all about, personal choice, to see if we will of our own free will choose to love, believe in, follow and obey the Lord. I can not choose for you. As Paul tells us, we will each give an account for ourselves:

"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."
Romans 14:12, KJV

If you wish to be rid of the confusion, then you must allow the Truth and the Light of God's Word to shine into your heart. However, to do this, you must be willing to reject anything which does not stand up to Biblical scrutiny; even if it is something you have believed in all of your life. This is exactly what Jesus came to do, to give us Light:

"To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."
Luke 1:79, KJV

"I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness."
John 12:46, KJV

"To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God . . ."
Acts 26:18a, KJV

Once you do this, the darkness and the confusion will be forced to flee; for there is no room for both. As the Apostle Paul tells us:

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"
2 Corinthians 6:14, KJV

"Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness."
1 Thessalonians 5:5, KJV

In conclusion, there are so many examples in the physical world which reflect our relationship with God. Consider the Moon revolving around the Earth, or the planets revolving around the Sun. Like them, we must have a Central Axis in our lives around which we revolve. If we don't, we will go flying off into the darkness of space. We will endlessly wander about not knowing what is up and what is down, just like the angels who rebelled against God:

"Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever."
Jude 1:13, KJV

People who reject the Light and the Truth of God's Word are just like this. But, if we stay in the Light and let Him and His Word be the center of our existence, all will be well. We will still have problems in this life, but at least we won't be confused. We will know what we believe and where we are going when this life is over. If you really want to find that Central Axis in your life so as to avoid wandering off in the confusion of EVILution and other false doctrines of men, you need to spend time reading your Bible instead of things written by those men who obviously do not believe in Him and who fight against Him by their very denial and rejection of His word. Let the Light in and the darkness will flee of itself.
