As each year passes, and the United States of America -- and the world at large -- stray further away from the precepts of God's Holy Word, our Christian heritage is being attacked ever more vehemently by those individuals who seek to totally destroy what little faith in Jesus Christ still remains on the Earth. This kind of situation is nothing new. Persecution against our faith has been occurring for literally centuries, and a lot of attempts have been made to weaken us, divide us and silence us. The ultimate goal has been to try to diminish the effectiveness of our faith in the world, because ungodly people do not want to live according to God's standards. I am reminded of something that Jesus said almost two thousand years ago:

". . . Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"


As I said, such attacks against our Christian faith are being perpetrated by organizations and persons who espouse schools of thought which contradict our Christian teachings. They are also being carried out by those people who view Christianity as an obstacle in the way of accomplishing their hidden goals and agendas.

These enemies of the Gospel include such people as atheists and intellectuals who mock and despise anything which carries a religious overtone; New World Order advocates who desire to establish a de-spiritualized One World Religion that is based on man worship, human achievements and materialistic living; individuals of other religious faiths who abhor all Christian evangelical endeavors; nature and devil worshippers; gay and lesbian rights organizations; supporters of abortion rights; New Age thought adherents; and many other misguided souls who have rejected the standard of God's Word. In a Psalm which seems descriptive of the Millennial Rule of Christ, we find a verse which could very easily be applied to those people who currently resist God's Spirit of Truth which dwells in His children. Consider this verse:

"Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us."


To reiterate what I said a moment ago, such rebellious people want to live their lives as they please, without feeling the conviction of God's Spirit working in their lives. They don't want to be reminded that they're in rebellion against God and living in sin. Our very presence in this world as ambassadors for Christ and spiritual lights who point to Scriptural truth, makes them feel uncomfortable. We are a thorn in their side. It is for this reason that they seek to destroy us and our faith. The Children of Light and the Children of Darkness are unable to share the same space and coexist. Consider the following group of verses:

"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God."


"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."


"The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light."


"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."


"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"


"Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children . . . For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light . . . And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."


"That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;"


"But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness."


"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved."


"If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:"


We all must face reality and understand that our Christian faith is truly in a state of crisis, and has been for a very long time. This current situation isn't just something which developed a few decades ago. True Christianity has been in retreat since a few hundred years following the Ascension of Christ. As I mentioned earlier, these attacks against us are nothing new. The forces of darkness have been endeavoring to defeat Christianity for thousands of years. In fact, Satan attempted to defeat our faith two thousands years ago even before it ever came into existence. I am referring to the fact that he tried to blot out the life of Jesus Christ when he was still a young boy, as is recorded in the Gospels. We would all do well to take heed to the Apostle Peter's clear admonition when he writes the following in his first Epistle:

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"


One area where Satan's followers have concentrated their efforts is in the public school system; because they know that, possibly after the family television room, the public schoolroom is the second place where our Christian values are most vulnerable to attack. Obviously, we parents cannot be in the classroom to protect our children from the lies and false teachings which they are being spoon-fed on a daily basis. Sadly, many of us are aware of exactly how bad the public school system has become in regards to teaching and promoting things which contradict our Christian faith.

As if the sale of illegal drugs in the schools, and school violence -- particularly gun violence -- are not already bad enough, as many of you will know, now our Christian children are being confused and subtly brainwashed into accepting gay and lesbian relationships as normal, acceptable alternative lifestyles; even though this is in direct contradiction to Biblical teachings. The people behind this devilish scheme are extremely aggressive in their approach. When I attended the public school system not quite five decades ago, it was totally unheard of to find library books which promoted the gay and lesbian lifestyle. Now, such books are common in a growing number of schools. Consider what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Church at Rome concerning the pagan, hedonistic lifestyle of the citizens of Rome:

"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."

In addition to these things, from the first years of elementary school, our Christian children are being spoon-fed the ungodly, demonic lies of evolution. This too is another blatant attempt by the Children of Darkness to confuse our children regarding the origins of life, the Universe, and the human race; and to rob them of their faith in the one true God and His holy Word. While some school officials and teachers may not even realize it, not only are they confusing our children with this satanic doctrine, but in the process of doing so, they are also calling God a liar, and His Word a lie, by teaching these misguided theories which are in direct contradiction to the Bible. Consider the following verses:

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"


"God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged."


"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"


The bottom line is that all of this confusion coming from modern science, which is being so heavily promoted in every school classroom, and in every college and university across America, originates from one source, and from one source alone. It certainly is not from God; because as the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian brethren so many years ago:

"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."


While Paul was speaking specifically regarding the Gifts of the Spirit in that verse -- particularly the Gift of Prophecy -- I believe that we can apply the overall truth of the verse to God's nature in general. In other words, He doesn't create confusion in the lives of His obedient children. While writing about another subject, the Apostle James made the following interesting comment, which, in my view, applies very well to all of the evolutionary lies which are now being espoused by modern, ungodly scientists and their ilk, who view God's Word as a delusional fantasy:

"This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish."


Devilish indeed. Concerning Satan himself, Jesus exposed that liar's true deceitful nature when He said the following while rebuking the unbelieving Jews in the eighth chapter of the Gospel of John:

". . . He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."


If there is one thing we can know with absolute certainty, it is that the Bible clearly indicates by its own historical and genealogical account, that evolution is a straight lie coming from the Devil. There is absolutely no truth in that misguided theory whatsoever. Again, I encourage you to read some of the other articles which are listed at the end of this series, such as "Adaptation, EVILution and the Six Days of Genesis", and "The Earth is Under Seven Thousand Years Old". We find an interesting parallel to the modern belief in evolution, and what basically amounts to the worship of skeletons of extinct dinosaurs, in the ancient Roman idolatrous worship of images and statues of birds and four-footed beasts. Consider what the Apostle Paul had to say:

"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things . . . Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen."


About seven hundred years before this, the Prophet Jeremiah also chided ancient Israel for worshipping things taken from nature, as we can determine by the following set of verses. In my view, believing in evolution is just as ridiculous as what the ancient Israelites did thousands of years ago when they claimed that they came from stocks and stones; meaning false gods which were carved out of wood and stone:

"Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us."


"And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks."


"But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities."


As can be easily seen, this idea of worshipping creation, or nature, is something which has been going on for literally thousands of years. While modern cults such as the Wiccans are more obvious in their worship of the forces of nature, are modern evolutionists really that much different? After all, they too basically worship something which they view as a natural process occurring over millions of years. However, the Bible calls these kinds of teachings "science falsely so called". This so-called "wisdom" is nothing but the foolish babblings of vain, proud, rebellious men who have rejected God and His Holy Word. Please note that in the verse below, the word "science" is derived from a Koine Greek word which is normally translated as "knowledge" in the Scriptures:

"O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:"


It is for reasons such as the above, that as responsible Christian parents, we must use what time we do have with our children, to firmly plant their feet upon the foundation of God's Word. We must place their faith in the Holy Bible, and ground them in Scriptural truth; not in the words of mere men who are often misguided in their thoughts. In the Book of Proverbs we find the following wise counsel:

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."


This is a very serious responsibility for Christian parents. Trust me; if we fail in this area, we may regret it later if and when our children begin to wander away from the Lord. It usually begins happening during their school years; because it is there where they start to adopt the beliefs, attitudes and behavior of the children of the world. In one of His many Parables, Jesus tells us that if our faith is founded upon the Rock, we will never be moved or washed away, as we see by the following verse:

"He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock."


Of course, we know that Jesus Christ is that Rock. He is also the Living Word of God, as becomes evident by the following group of verses:

"And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ."


"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;"


"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."


"And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God."


As the Apostle Paul wrote to the Roman brethren, and likewise admonished his beloved son in the Lord, Timothy, the only way for any of us to have faith, and to increase and strengthen our faith, is through a diligent study of God's Word, as we see by the following two verses:

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."


"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."


As I have shared in other articles, there are many, many verses throughout the Bible which emphasize the importance of renewing ourselves in the Word of God on a daily basis. King David even tells us that the Lord has magnified His Word above His very Name, as we see by the following verse:

"I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."


King David and Jesus likewise both compared the reading of God's Word to taking a spiritual bath, as we see by these two verses:

"Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you."


"BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word."


Thus we see that the very best way in which we can help our children to combat the lies of Satan, and of his ungodly worldly system -- beginning with the crap they are taught in the public school system -- is simply by filling their minds and hearts with the faith-building Word of God. This is the only way that we can help to protect them from such demonic teachings, practices and influences as evolution, the gay and lesbian agenda, drug usage, prostitution, rebellious, ungodly worldly music, and whatever other things Satan's crowd might use to try to win them over. We must teach our children God's Standard, before they are exposed to the world's standard in the public school classroom.

This is precisely what I did when my daughter was very young. While many worldly parents spend piles of money to buy their children toy soldiers, guns, violent video games which are full of killing and bloodshed, or maybe sorcery and magic, I invested as much as I possibly could in printed Bibles, Bible story books, a full set of Bible cassette tapes -- later a CD set as well -- and a lot of Bible story video tapes and DVDs. These kinds of things are much wiser investments than all of the garbage Satan has to offer. Bible-related materials are invaluable tools for shaping not only your children's current morals, attitudes and spiritual values, but their future as well.

Some day our children will reach an age when they are old enough to make decisions on their own. They will also reach an age when they will want to go out on their own to begin their own families. While we may not fully realize what kind of an effect we are having on our children now, we certainly will in that day. I am reminded of a verse from the Book of Ecclesiastes which says the following:

"Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days."


Will our children remain close to the Lord and His Word, the true Bread of Life? Or will they go astray and become just like those people who we have tried to protect them from? A lot depends on what we give them now as responsible Christian parents. In the world, they have a lot of fancy sayings like "Children are our future" and "Children are an investment in the future". But we must stop and ask ourselves how much they really believe in these things. Are they just fancy slogans meant to lull us asleep while we continue on our merry way in sin and rebellion, which will eventually lead to our very own destruction?

The sad truth is that we have heard slogans such as these for many decades; and yet it seems that nothing really ever changes. And actually, the situation is getting worse with each passing year. Children are getting worse, and society in general is getting worse as well. There are more drugs on our streets and in our schools. There is more violence; and that includes tragic gun violence in our schools. Too many teenage girls continue to get pregnant. Abortion stains our nation red from one end to the other. Rebellion and defiance is evident in many popular songs. Sexual perversion is even more rampant than ever before. Respect for elders is at an all-time low. Devil worship is bragged about by some of the popular Hollywood stars and music artists. In so many ways, we are a people who openly fight against the accepted ways of God. Do you think that God will forever turn a blind eye to all of this defiant behavior? I think not.

While all of this happening, at the same time, parents are slowly losing control over their very own children, as the public school system becomes their new "nannies". And this applies to many colleges and universities as well. So many things are said, done and taught now that we parents aren't even aware of. As I mentioned earlier, one clear example is how the gay and lesbian agenda has gained a strong foothold in a growing number of schools. Our young children are being taught objectionable things which we as parents never agreed to. School policies are being instituted which mitigate our rights as parents, and reduce our power over our children. Our conservative, Bible-based values are being replaced by liberal indoctrination at a very early age, whether we like it or not.

I have heard some people suggest that what is happening now is all part of a sinister plot to slowly steal our children from us. The stated goal is make our children properties of the State and the New World Order through such things as the UN-sponsored International Rights of the Child. As I have mentioned before, the overall mentality of the people behind this scheme seems to be that we are no longer qualified to be parents, and that our "dear" government can do a better job at parenting than we can. Do you accept this? How much do your children mean to you?

If there is one thing which I hope you are learning from the first part of this series, it is that the US public school system is one of the primary battlegrounds where a relentless war is being waged for the very minds and hearts of our dear children. Sadly, it appears that we may be losing the battle. So many parents are busy, struggling to survive, and working at one or more jobs, that they barely have time to even learn what is going on in their local school, and what their kids are being taught. I must wonder if this difficult situation is by intentional design. In other words, when the cat -- the parents -- is away, the mice -- liberal school teachers and administrators -- will play. They do as they please, because we are not there to stop them. What do you think?

As you may know, there are many Scriptures in the Bible which speak about children. One verse in particular which I have quoted often is found in the Book of Psalms and states the following:

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."


Aside from the fact that our children are our heritage, and the continuance of our family lines, we can look at this verse in another way. What kind of a Christian heritage can our children expect to give to their children if we have not been faithful with them while they are young, malleable and still with us? As the Apostle Paul wrote in his Epistle to the Galatians:

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."


While Paul was discussing a very different topic, I think the truth of his words can be applied to this situation as well. In short, as I mentioned earlier, what we reap in the future, will be greatly affected by what we have sown in the lives of our children now. Personally, I became aware of the spiritual warfare going on a number of years ago. I came to realize who the enemy is, and that he could not be trusted. I also came to understand that proper training of our children begins at home, and that we cannot and should not depend upon, or trust in, those people who operate the public school system to meet our children's spiritual needs. How can they if the Spirit of God is not even present there? Therefore, as I have shared in this series, I realized that I had to take upon myself the responsibility of arming my child with the proper tools and weapons, so that she could wage a successful warfare against the lies she was taught at school. For as I have made clear, the US public school system is one of Satan's strongholds. Consider the following verse:

"(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)"


In describing the weapons and armor of this spiritual warfare in which all Christians are engaged, the Apostle Paul wrote the following lines to the Church at Ephesus:

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:"
