REST IN JESUS

by Bill Kochman

As this old world grows ever colder,
And so many turn towards the night,
Rejecting all of God’s messengers,
Our burden no longer seems so light.

Indeed, as another year progresses,
We find ourselves even more defamed,
They accuse us of hatred and bigotry,
For many other things we are blamed.

They pile accusations on our backs,
And weigh us down with all their lies,
But a weak Christian may not bear it,
Yes, no matter how hard he even tries.

But there is one really simple solution,
Which can help us all to rise above,
We have to maintain our eyes on Jesus,
Never doubting in His wonderful love.

Remember one thing the Lord told us,
Is that the load isn’t ours alone to bear,
We must cast all our burdens on Him,
Knowing that He will always be there.

So please rest your troubles in Jesus,
No matter how dark your day may get,
The Lord will handle every situation,
There is no need for you to ever fret.
