DAY THE WORLD STOPS

Oh how we love our electronic gadgets,
We use them almost every single day,
But what if something were to happen,
And suddenly they are taken all away?

Now just stop and think for a moment,
Exactly how your life would then be,
We are so dependent on our inventions,
Would we be driven to total insanity?

If you believe that I over exaggerate,
What if the Internet drops for an hour?
Nice folks angrily growl at their ISP,
Oh yes, they quickly become very sour.

But imagine if all of our devices stop,
For at least weeks, months or even more,
So many things that we take for granted,
We would come to a standstill for sure.

Cooking, banking, shopping and driving,
Entertainment, clocks, phones & cooling,
We’d go nuts without all of these things,
So tell me who do we think we’re fooling?

Such a bleak scenario is quite possible,
A powerful solar flare could do us all in,
Or a bomb exploded in the atmosphere,
Could help the other side to quickly win.

Yet even tho we’re aware of the danger,
What can we do to avoid such a fate?
We are so enslaved by our creations,
Quite frankly, I dare say it is too late.
