FLOOD

by Bill Kochman

10-04-2023

I am drowning in politics,
It’s just everywhere I look,
I am really quite sick of it,
I need some private nook.

They won’t leave me alone,
Won’t you please go away,
Stop now with the barrage,
I don’t care what you say.

Seriously I’ve had enough,
A long rest I really need,
All of your political rants,
I don’t have time to read.

In my inbox, on my phone,
Plus the radio and my TV,
What a nuisance you are,
Just like some darn flea.

But it is a campaign year,
So for me there’s no hope,
Now I’ve got to figure out,
How I am going to cope.
