MAKING IT BIG

by Bill Kochman

Now if on the social networks,
You so desire to make it big,
I have got advice how to be,
A giant tree & not just a twig.

So in case you’re wondering,
And just do not have a clue,
There’s really only one thing,
You absolutely ought to do.

No, posting with your might,
Just won’t take you very far,
Most people still won’t know,
Where or even who you are.

Now I will share the secret,
So you can pass their test,
Even tho you may not like it,
Around bigwigs just coalesce.

You see most networks work,
Around your desire to be seen,
They’ll draw you in like moths,
You understand what I mean?

But unless you learn the ropes,
And comment on posts by elite,
Although you try so very hard,
Alas, you will still end in defeat.

Networks are two-tier systems,
Where paupers & princes roam,
But if you don’t engage princes,
You just gnaw a meatless bone.

The elites get all the exposure,
Oh, yes, they have lots of fun,
While peons fight for attention,
No doubt you’re probably one.

Now if you still doubt my word,
Go and comment to a prince,
Sure, do it as often as you like,
And you I will surely convince.

Folks will like your comments,
They’ll even share one or two,
Meanwhile, on your timeline,
Engagements remain very few.

Now do you finally understand,
We are dressing on their cake,
Failure to hobnob with bigwigs,
Is making one obvious mistake.
