FROM SAUL TO PAUL

Once there was a Jew named Saul,
A very self-righteous Pharisee,
He persecuted God’s early Church,
With great rage and jealousy.

He was so blinded by the Old Law,
That he was simply unable to see,
God’s new plan thru Jesus Christ,
Which would set the captives free.

Then it occurred one fateful day,
As to Damascus he did take a ride,
God decided that it was now time,
To deal with his rebellious pride.

Surrounded by Heaven’s great light,
That man to the ground did so fall,
Jesus said Why persecutest thou me?
Though the others saw nothing at all.

Three days blind and no food or drink,
God gave Saul some time to repent,
Then a miracle of healing occurred,
When to Saul, Ananias was then sent.

From his eyes fell as it were scales,
And baptism is what took place next,
Now to learn the rest of Paul’s story,
Please just read the Biblical text.
