I AM A NOBODY

by Bill Kochman

04-08-2014

The world says that I am a nobody,
My life has not amounted to much.
I am neither rich nor very famous,
So most women avoid me as such.

No streets have been named after me,
My books are not found in any store.
No one knows my face from any other,
It is probably because I’m very poor.

But my riches are kept up in Heaven,
Where moth and rust can take no toll.
Pleasing my body may be satisfying,
But I’m more concerned about my soul.
