CAMPAIGN PAIN IN THE BRAIN

by Bill Kochman

08-26-2024

Twisted truths and outright lies,
Yes, campaign season is here.
From the left and from the right,
They both want to fill your ear.

Boasting of what they’ve done,
Or what they’re intending to do,
There’s so much political banter,
I can’t wait till they’re all through.

Back and forth, and left and right,
How they love to yank our chain,
Trying to figure out what is true,
Your left with a burned out brain.

So now when all is said and done,
And a new prez voters approve,
Will our lives still stay the same,
Or will everything really improve?

It is a solid fact that talk is cheap,
And empty promises easily made,
Yet despite after so many years,
Do we know we’ve been played?

You may not like what I have said,
But still you know that it is all true,
So when election day rolls around,
What do you think you’ll really do?
