I HATE DEBATE BAIT

There exist certain people who argue,
Indeed, for the sake of arguing alone,
It really does not matter which subject,
All they care about is picking a bone.

Oh be very careful how they goad you,
Don’t get caught up in their silly debate,
Regardless of what they do to annoy,
Don’t you ever dare swallow their bait.

Their primary goal is to cause division,
So God’s sheep fight some other sheep,
Thus the best way to avoid their trap,
Is by simply not making a single peep.

You need to ignore their taunts & jabs,
Even when you’re so tempted to reply,
And if you resist all of their needling,
That conversation will eventually die.

So this is a good way to handle foxes,
When they try to creep into your midst,
It is better to resolve problems nicely,
Rather than having to rely on your fist.
