SKIN

by Bill Kochman

Oh just look at our skin,
Where do I even begin?
Even when we are rough,
God has made it so tough.

Tho we may take a spill,
Our skin is quick to heal.
Holding everything inside,
I so like my outer hide!

It is a miracle for sure,
My skin I thank God for.
While mine may be white,
Yours is black as night.

Or somewhere in between,
God has His color scheme.
Tho we don’t look the same,
For everyone Jesus came.

Beauty is only skin deep,
Our soul He wants to keep.
Alas, it will peel away,
I’ll walk in Spirit someday.
