ODE TO VICKS

In your nose,
On your chest,
Vicks VapoRub,
Works the best.

For your cough,
If phlegm is stuck,
On one lozenge,
You can suck.

It worked great,
Mom sure knew,
Yes, anytime,
A kid felt blue.

Under covers,
Warm and snug,
Vicks soothed us,
From that bug.

That dear odor,
We knew well,
Vicks back then,
Was our pal!

Now sadly today,
Pricks are a thing,
Big Pharma rules,
Jabs for everything.

I really worry,
What’s in a shot,
You may take ‘em,
But I will not!

Nope, not for me,
I am fine without,
Faith in my Lord,
I am all about.

He has kept me,
I am doing okay,
My life proves it,
What can I say?
