THE DEBT

by Bill Kochman

01-31-2018

No matter how much I may sacrifice each day,
It’s nothing compared to what Jesus did for me.
He bore the weight of all of my darkest sins,
When He chose to die on yonder Mount Calvary.

Even my very best for the Lord still falls short,
Compared to the Apostles of the First Century.
Persecuted, jailed, flogged, crucified, burned,
It’s because of them I can now believe, you see.

In our foolish pride sometimes we tend to boast,
About our service to God, with little humility,
But the truth is we owe them a tremendous debt,
Of this fact you will no doubt assuredly agree.
