THIS BRIEF LIFE

by Bill Kochman

08-22-2014

Death comes knocking we know not when,
Some folks wish they could begin again,
But alas only once our life does pass,
And soon is gone like a blade of grass.

As a wispy cloud sailing high above,
Short as the passage of a parting dove,
So is our brief time here on the Earth,
Our years are numbered from our birth.

In God’s Mercy there is time to repent,
We must acknowledge dear Son He sent,
For weeks days hours transpire so fast,
We fail to see when final day is cast.
