MERRY-GO-ROUND

by Bill Kochman

We all live on a merry-go-round,
Where the horses are all the same,
Problems just keep on repeating,
But no one wants to take the blame,

It is just wash, rinse and repeat,
As those horses pile up the money,
While we struggle to survive daily,
Our lives are far from being sunny.

Our nation is filled with abortion,
We often hear of a mass shooting,
Tell me, does it honestly matter,
For which party we are rooting?

Nothing really seems to change,
The pols live in their own bubble,
But for those of us on the bottom,
For food and gas we pay double.

They keep on promising us a fix,
While they spend decades in DC,
It is time to boot out old horses,
They don’t care about you and me.
