BACKYARD POLITICS

by Bill Kochman

06-01-2016

Running for a public office,
Seems to be the latest sport,
Candidates attack each other,
They fire off a mean retort.

Forget about the big issues,
Which make our lives so hard,
Let’s sling mud at one another,
Like kids do in their backyard.

It really is so disgraceful,
Grown men behaving like jerks,
With so many pressing problems,
Their sad behavior really irks.
