ATHEIST

I met this atheist the other day,
Boy, did that guy know how to rant,
There’s so much scientific evidence,
To believe in your God I just can’t.

The fossil record is so very clear,
The Earth is billions of years old,
So get your head out of the sand,
Forget that stuff you’ve been told.

That book you read is a fairy tale,
Its stories are allegories at best,
As for me, I embrace modern math,
And all our theories pass the test.

I don’t need some great God above,
The Big Bang is really fine by me,
A cosmic explosion very long ago,
Is just how everything came to be.

Now as for man and his modern state,
Anthropology surely holds the key,
My ancestors were quite hairy guys,
They would swing from tree to tree.

Now by this time I had had enough,
This fellow was sounding so absurd,
It was clear his mind was made up,
He had zero respect for God’s Word.

With a smile I gave that man a tract,
It explained how to be Heaven-bound,
But he just muttered under his breath,
And cast God’s Truth to the ground.

So blinded by the lies of the world,
The real truth he was unable to see,
But maybe the scales would fall off,
So he’d come to the light eventually.
