BURIAL TASK

by Bill Kochman

01-01-2017

I really did try to stop you,
Said you were drinking too fast,
But you glared with reddened eyes,
And said “Hey dude, I didn’t ask.”

Yeah, you just have another sip,
After all, it will be your last,
Satan has got you so deceived,
He laughs behind a friendly mask.

Sure, go ahead and just do it,
Break open yet one more cask,
But someday when you least expect,
Friends will get your burial task.
