CHERRY PICKER

She was a Bible cherry picker,
Choosing verses that she liked,
While as for quite a few others,
She told them to go take a hike.

Like so many modern Believers,
She was one to pick & choose,
It is such a dangerous practice,
God’s Word we shouldn’t abuse.

And yet a lot of Christians today,
Foolishly behave just the same,
As if the Bible is some cafeteria,
Or a free-for-all Scrabble game.

If a verse supports their beliefs,
Well then that verse is still okay,
But if a verse contradicts them,
It is simply time to take it away.

And thus they force God’s Word,
To conform to their own thought,
Beware of the people who do it,
Do not be deceived by their rot.

Embrace your Bible completely,
Refrain from any verse cleaning,
Compare one verse to another,
To arrive at the proper meaning.

If you follow my advice closely,
The Lord will be pleased indeed,
And as for your understanding,
It will increase with all you read.
