DOWN, DOWN

by Bill Kochman

01-13-2017

He sank down, oh so very down,
As the light quickly raced away,
He had always rejected the Lord,
And now he would have to pay.

Many scenes passed by his eyes,
As he fell deeper into that hole,
He saw folks reaching out to him,
Trying to save his miserable soul.

But his pride made him say “No!”,
No God would ever force his hand,
His fear grew great, almost there,
He’d never see that Heavenly Land.
