DUST, DUST

by Bill Kochman

05-05-2014

Dust, dust, that is all we are,
Nothing to leave your mouth ajar.
But our pride always finds a way,
Puffed up in the things we say.

Oh we are the greatest on Earth,
Overestimating our true worth.
With our words we love to deceive,
Much as Satan did with poor Eve.

Thus God must bring us down low,
Our foolish vanity He must show.
To Him belong honor and glory,
This is a key point of the story.
