EASTER

I am so happy that it is Easter,
It is such a special time of year,
There are so many chocolate bunnies,
They make me smile from ear to ear.

The Easter egg hunts do thrill me,
And jelly beans taste so really good,
It is hard to resist eating too many,
Even though I know I really should.

It is fun to dress up in our finest,
Girls put on their prettiest dress,
The boys match it with their suits,
It is all so lovely I must confess.

Now if this is your idea of Easter,
Then you have got it so very wrong,
Because all of this pagan nonsense,
Does not with Easter really belong.

It is not about rabbits and candy,
But Jesus who rose from the dead,
We celebrate Christ who is risen,
And who died for sin in our stead.

So forsake all your vain traditions,
Give glory to whom it is really due,
For He proved there is Life Eternal,
When our existence here is through.
