GOODBYE TO KISSES?

So I went food shopping the other day,
Got my stuff and then went up to pay.
Afterwards I thot my total seemed high,
But I didn’t even bother to ask ‘em why.

Now later in the day it bothered me still,
Yet I did not look at that expensive bill.
Then during the night as I lay in my bed,
Thoughts of that total yet filled my head.

So I got out of bed and went to the trash,
To find out what happened to my cash.
I got the receipt & examined each thing,
Man oh man, it just didn’t make me sing!

Hershey’s kisses are my pleasure in life,
But why so more expensive than a wife?
Let me tell you dude, it just really sucks,
It was a two-pound bag for twenty bucks!

When I saw it I nearly went thru the roof,
Now how can I satisfy my sweet tooth?
I don’t shop often so well I bought three,
As you can imagine, I am feeling misery.

At this point I am not certain what to do,
Are my kisses eating days sadly through?
I deserve to have my one sweet pleasure,
Even if I truly spend beyond my measure.

I am an old man, my days are soon done,
So I’ll just keep on having my kisses fun.
